معلومات تاريخية

تدل الشواهد والرسوم الظاهرة على الصخور الليبية، على وجود آثار للإنسان موغلة في القدم وتعود إلى ما قبل التاريخ بآلاف السنين. وتوجد تلك الشواهد بشكل رئيسي في مدينة غات الجبلية، بأقصى الجنوب الغربي من ليبيا

وتنتشر في غالبية المدن الليبية معالم أثرية تاريخية أخرى تشير إلى ازدهار حضارات عريقة سادت ثم بادت، على أيدي الفينيقيين الوافدين من السواحل الشرقية للمتوسط ، ثم الوندال والإغريق والبطالمة والرومان، فالعصر الإسلامي الذي بدأ في القرن السابع الميلادي، ثم الأسبان، وصولاً إلى العثمانيين الأتراك حتى مطلع القرن العشرين وما شاهدته ليبيا من أحداث خلال ذلك القرن

تقع ليبيا بوسط شمال القارة الأفريقية عند تقاطع خط العرض 25 شمالاً وخط الطول 17 شرقاً

الحدود

يحد ليبيا من جهة الشمال البحر المتوسط، ومن الغرب الجزائر، ومن الشمال الغربي تونس، ومن الجنوب النيجر وتشاد، ومن الشرق مصر، ومن الجنوب الشرقي السودان

المساحة

تحتل ليبيا المرتبة الرابعة من بين البلدان الأكبر مساحة في القارة الأفريقية، والمرتبة الخامسة عشر على مستوى العالم، إذ تبلغ مساحة ليبيا 1.759.540 كم2. (أزيد من ثلاثة أضعاف مساحة أسبانيا). ويمتد شاطئها على البحر المتوسط لحوالي ألفي كيلومتر.
تتمركز الأراضي الخصبة من البلاد في المنطقة الشمالية المحاذية للبحر المتوسط، المعروفة بطقسها المعتدل، والتي تتمركز بها غالبية السكان

الحيوانات البرية والنباتات

تخلو الأراضي الليبية الواقعة جنوب الشريط الساحلي بشكل عام من النباتات الطبيعية، عدا بعض الأماكن التي تتكاثر فيها الواحات وعيون المياه، التي تتميز بأشجار النخيل والزيتون، في حين أنه توجد في مناطق المرتفعات والهضاب نباتات العرعر والبطم المستكى

ومن بين الحيوانات البرية التي تكثر بليبيا، القوارض الصحراوية، كالضباع والغزلان والقطط الجبلية والنسور والصقور

المدن الساحلية: طرابلس (العاصمة)- بنغازي- مصراتة- زوارة- الزاوية- الخمس- طبرق- درنة

المدن الداخلية (الجبلية): نالوت- جادو- غريان- البيضاء- شحات- المرج

المدن الصحراوية: سبها- غدامس- غات- براك

التضاريس

يتميز جنوب المنطقة الغربية من البلاد بسهوله الصخرية، كمنطقة الجفارة والحمادة الحمراء، تليها هضاب ومرتفعات تحتضن مدن غريان ونالوت ويفرن. أما المنطقة الساحلية منها فتتميز بقلة المرتفعات الطبيعية.

تحتوي المنطقة الشرقية من ليبيا على مناطق خضراء شاسعة وغابات متوسطية، في إطار منطقة الجبل الأخضر، وشواطئ بمرتفعات ومخابئ طبيعية

المنطقة الجنوبية من البلاد صحراوية وتتخللها مناطق خضراء على شكل واحات وعيون مياه، وتتركز بها مدن سبها وغات ومرزق وأوباري والكفرة

المناخ

يسود المناطق الشمالية من البلاد المناخ المتوسطي المعتدل

في الشتاء تنخفض درجة الحرارة شمالاً لتصل بين 8 إلى 20 درجة مئوية، مع هطول الأمطار خاصة في شهري ديسمبر ويناير. أما خلال الصيف فتتراوح درجات الحرارة بين 22 و38 درجة مئوية

بالمناطق الجنوبية يكون المناخ صحراوي قليل الأمطار، وتقترب فيه درجة الحرارة من 45 درجة خلال الصيف

تظهر أحياناً خلال موسم الصيف رياح القبلي، وهي رياح عاتية قادمة من الجنوب محملة برمال الصحراء وتتسبب في رفع درجة الحرارة إلى أزيد من 45 درجة مئوية

كانت منطقة العزيزية، الواقعة على حوالي 70 كم. جنوب طرابلس، قد سجلت سنة 1957 أعلى درجة حرارة في العالم، حيث بلغت 57 درجة مئوية

السكان

يبلغ تعداد السكان في ليبيا 6,16 مليون نسمة، حسب تعداد سنة 2007

توجد بين السكان نسبة 72 % ممن تقل أعمارهم عن سن 30 عاماً

العاصمة

طرابلس، ويبلغ عدد سكانها 1.495.957 حسب تعداد سنة 2003

اللغة

العربية وهي اللغة الرسمية للبلاد

كما توجد أقلية ناطقة بالغة الأمازيغية

يوجد بين السكان من يجيد اللغتين الإيطالية والإنجليزية

الدين

الغالبية العظمى من سكان ليبيا تدين بالإسلام السني (المذهب المالكي). توجد نسبة ضئيلة من المسلمين من أتباع المذهب الأباظي

كما تعيش في ليبيا أقلية مسيحية من المقيمين الأجانب أغلبها من الكاثوليك (0,2 %)

ثلاثي الألوان: أحمر وأسود يتخلله في الوسط هلال ونجمة خماسية باللون الأبيض، ثم الأخضر

العملة

الدينار الليبي ويساوي 1.000 درهم

وتعادل قيمة الدينار 1,67 يورو (تقريباً)

توقيت العمل

تفتح المكاتب أبوابها كل يوم من الساعة 08.00 إلى 15.00

أما البنوك فتفتح أبوابها من السبت إلى الخميس، من الساعة 08.00 إلى 14.00

يوم الجمعة هو يوم العطلة الأسبوعية

فارق التوقيت

في ليبيا لا يجري تغيير الساعة في أي فصل من فصول السنة، بمعنى أنه خلال موسم الربيع والصيف يتم الإبقاء على نفس التوقيت. وعندما يجري تعديل في التوقيت في أسبانيا خلال فصلي الخريف والشتاء، يكون الفارق الزمني في التوقيت بزيادة ساعة في ليبيا

بعد عدة عقود من خلو البلاد من إعلام حر بسبب سياسة النظام السابق القائمة على طمس حرية الكلمة والتعبير، ومنذ انبلاج ثورة 17 فبراير (2011)، ظهرت العديد من الجرائد اليومية والأسبوعية بشكل مكثف في كبرى المدن الليبية، حيث تزدان الأكشاك بصحف » البلاد» و»فبراير» و»المسار»، وغيرها. إلى جانب مواقع على شبكة الانترنيت باللغتين العربية والانجليزية. كما توجد جرائد تصدر خارج ليبيا، عربية وأجنبية

محطات الإذاعة

توجد عدة محطات للإذاعة المسموعة (الراديو). ففي طرابلس توجد دار الإذاعة الليبية، وهي الإذاعة الرئيسية التابعة للقطاع العام، إلى جانب محطات إذاعية محلية وخاصة. كما توجد محطات إذاعية محلية وخاصة في بنغازي ومصراتة ومختلف المدن الأخرى

قنوات التلفزيون

توجد رسمية هي » قناة ليبيا الوطنية»، إلى جانب قنوات محلية وخاصة في كبرى المدن. ويتم التقاط بثها غالباً أرضياً وفضائياً عبر القمر الصناعي المصري نايلسات، إلى جانب أقمار صناعية أخرى

يمكن الحصول في المكتبات والفنادق ووكالات السفر، بمختلف المدن، على خرائط وصور ومعلومات سياحية حول أهم المعالم والأماكن السياحية في ليبيا (أنقر «السياحة في ليبيا»)

المواصلات الدولية

بالطائرة

ترتبط العاصمة الليبية طرابلس بمختلف عواصم العالم بالعديد من الرحلات الجوية العربية والأوروبية ومن الشرق الأقصى ووسط وجنوب أفريقيا.
توجد في ليبيا عدة شركات وطنية وخاصة للنقل الجوي، في مقدمتها شركة » الخطوط الجوية الليبية» و»الأفريقية» و» البراق» و»النجم الساطع» (بعض من تلك الشركات متوقفة عن العمل حالياً).
ومن بين شركات الطيران العالمية التي تسير رحلاتها الجوية إلى المطارات الليبية، توجد بريتش ايرويز واليطاليا والخطوط الجوية التركية ولوفتهانزا واولمبيك ايرويز والخطوط الجوية الأردنية والخطوط الجوية الإماراتية والخطوط الجوية الملكية المغربية ومصر للطيران.
توجد خطوط جوية داخلية تربط بين طرابلس وبنغازي وأهم المدن بالمناطق الداخلية.
توجد خطوط للحافلات وسيارات التاكسي تربط بين المطارات والمدن.

بالباخرة

يمكن للمسافر إلى ليبيا أن يستقل الباخرة، وأهم الخطوط البحرية تلك الرابطة بين طرابلس- لافاليتا (مالطا) وطرابلس- روما.

بالقطار

لا توجد في ليبيا شبكة قطارات، بالرغم من وجود مشروع مبرم مع جمهورية الصين يرمي لتركيب أكثر من 3.000 كم. من خطوط السكة الحديدية لربط مختلف المدن الليبية

بالطرقات العامة

الطرق الرئيسية لدخول الأراضي الليبية هي القادمة من تونس ومصر والجزائر وتشاد والنيجر

أما الطريق الأكثر استعمالاً من قبل المسافرين عن طريق البر، فهي الرابطة بين حدود ليبيا مع تونس غرباً، وحد\ودها مع مصر شرقاً محاذية لساحل البحر المتوسط

من أهم الطرقات العامة: القداحية- سبها / سبها- غات / طرابلس- سبها /  أجدابيا – الكفرة / غريان – يفرن / ترهونة – الخمس / مرسى سوسة – رأس هلال – درنة / طبرق – الجغبوب

تأجير السيارات

توجد في طرابلس وبنغازي وكالات لتأجير السيارات للمسافرين، ويسمح باستعمال رخصة القيادة الخاصة بالمسافر، لمدة ثلاثة أشهر، وعليه بعدها الحصول على رخصة قيادة ليبية
