أحيت السفارة الليبية بمدريد يوم 29 فبراير 2012، الذكرى السنوية الأولى لانبلاج ثورة 17 فبراير التي أنهت حكم الطاغية القذافي، حيث كان السفير السيد محمد الفقيه صالح على رأس المستقبلين في الحفل الرسمي الذي أقيم بتلك المناسبة

وقد حضر الحفل كبار المسئولين في الحكومة الأسبانية ورؤساء وأعضاء البعثات الدبلوماسية الأجنبية والعربية والهيئات الدولية التي مقرها أسبانيا والمعتمدة لدى المملكة الأسبانية، والوسائل الإعلامية من أسبانية وأجنبية، ورؤساء ومدراء الشركات والمؤسسات الأسبانية، وحشد كبير من أصدقاء ليبيا من الأسبان والعرب المقيمين، إلى جانب أعضاء الجالية الليبية المقيمة في أسبانيا، وعدد كبير من الجرحى الليبيين الذين يتلقون علاجهم في المستشفيات الأسبانية، ومرافقيهم

وكان في مقدمة الحاضرين، وزيرة الشؤون الخارجية الأسبانية السابقة، ترينيداد خيمينث، ونائب مدير عام إدارة المراسم بالخارجية الأسبانية، ورئيس جمعية النواب السابقين بالبرلمان الأسباني، وعدد من كبار الضباط بالإدارة العامة للشرطة الأسبانية، ومدراء ومحرري بعض الصحف والوسائل الإعلامية المرئية والمسموعة الأسبانية، وعدد من مراسلي القنوات التلفزيونية الأجنبية، ولفيف من ممثلي ومندوبي المجتمع المدني الأسباني، من منظمات وجمعيات أهلية

وقد تضمن الحفل عرض سلسلة من الأشرطة الوثائقية التي عرضت مسيرة ثورة 17 فبراير منذ بدايتها والحرب التي دارت رحاها فوق الأرض الليبية طيلة الأشهر الثمانية التي أعقبت انطلاق الثورة، وأغانٍ ليبية ومناظر سياحية أبرزت أهم المعالم والمواقع الأثرية في ليبيا، حظيت جميعها بإعجاب الحاضرين، حيث امتد الحفل إلى ساعات متأخرة من الليل
